First Nepali American Candidate Running for NYC Council in Queens

Nabaraj KC is an immigrant who came to the United States from Nepal, about 8,000 miles away, about 20 years ago with an American dream. He is the first Nepali American to run for the City Council in New York City, the world’s commercial capital.

Fernando Cabrera Endorsed Nabaraj KC on His Candidacy Announcement Day

New York City Council Member Fernando Cabrera who representing Bronx district 14 endorsed Nabaraj KC. KC is running in the Democratic primary on June 22 for City Council District 19, which includes the northeast Queens neighborhoods of College Point, Whitestone, Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Malba, North Flushing, and Auburndale. The program was held in district 19 in Queens.

The Rotary Club of New York “Queens” and Hami Nepali Global have provided free food at College Point, NY. It was in collaboration with the New York City government office. Nabaraj KC is a city council candidate of district 19. He enjoys performing numerous social activities in his life. This is his favorite thing to do.

“Luggage for life” Campaign by Nabaraj KC

An initiative of International Social Organization Rotary Club of New York, The Luggage for Life program aims at providing essential luggage, supplies, food, and other items to support disabled, destitute, and poverty-stricken dotage population in Nepal. In the supervision of Narendra Acharya, the first package of luggage has already been dispatched to Kathmandu, Nepal. Nabaraj KC, the president of the club, told that these provision has been provided to the needy people living in Pabritra SewaSamaj because Pabritra Sewa Samaj provides support to people who are in the phase of dotage and have no means of earning.

Nabaraj KC Was Honored As “Brooklyn’s COVID Heroes”

Former president of the Rotary club of “Queens” and current Assistant District Governor of Rotary International Nabaraj KC, awarded the “Brooklyn’s COVID Heroes” award by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. The program was held in the Brooklyn borough president office in Joralemon St, Brooklyn, NY. During the pandemic, Mr. KC has provided thousands of facemasks, hand sanitizer, and gloves to the Nepali community. In honor of that, the award was given to Nabaraj KC. Nabaraj KC is a dedicated philanthropist who always comes forward to help the community.

Nabaraj KC, the former president of the Queens Rotary Club and current assistant district governor of Rotary International, has been awarded the "Brooklyn's COVID Heroes" award by Brooklyn Borough president Eric Adams, according to a press release.

Hami Nepali Global and Rotary Club of New York ‘Queens’ held their first-ever Diwali celebration at Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights, New York, Nov. 14.

In an unending stream of Diwali Celebration in New York, Hami Nepali Global and Rotary Club of New York “ Queens” held its First-ever Diwali or Tihar Event at Diversity Plaza in Jackson Height, New York, Which was attended by Prominent Community leader of Chinese, Indian, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Burma, Tibet, and Korean Community gathered under the one platform and send a message of Unity during Diwali Celebration.

A Queens native who describes himself as a “Long-time activist and leader for change. Dedicated to bettering my community,” Nabaraj made the announcement at his campaign launch in College Point, in the presence of more than people there to show support for his candidacy. 

On the 96th Birth anniversary of legendary musician Nati kaji, the honor was awarded to Nabaraj KC. His father-in-law, Jay Kumar Khadka, received the award. Nati Kaji National Honor” was awarded by the president of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari.
